Journey to…, 2025

The series “Journey to…” consists of five circular canvases that function as metaphysical portals. For Olena Koliesnik, the choice of the circular canvas is a deliberate departure from linear logic in favor of cyclicality. It is an exploration of a journey with no final destination, because its true purpose lies in the process of spiritual transformation itself. These works emerged from pure experimentation: first came the chaos of texture and color, and only later did the Hero enter these viscous, blazing, or mystical environments. It is a visualization of how human presence comes to inhabit and master the process of the journey. “Journey to…” is not an illustration of a specific event. It is a recurring scenario of the spirit that the artist undergoes thousands of times, each time altering the depth of immersion. Every circle becomes a lens that changes the color of the world and reveals a new dimension of the artist’s free will. This is art as a tool for the “intergrowth of levels,” where every step deeper is, in fact, a step upward.
