We know what we are running from, but where is this high-speed train taking us? The entry point into the labyrinth of the “flight” response is an attempt to escape the one who follows us until the very end — ourselves. The Hero arrives here from the previous section of struggle and now clearly sees their motionless shadow ahead.
The background is covered with cracks and fractures — from inner dilemmas to external protests. Satin paper, soaked on both sides, forces the pigment to lose its boundaries and flow beyond the circle — this is what a world falling apart looks like. The torn edge of the work leaves a tactile trace of haste.
Note: The first work of the “Escape” section (the “flight” response) from the series “Solomon’s Paradox.” The full series consists of 18 works created at the intersection of psychology, exploring reptilian survival instincts and the artist’s lived experience of emigration.
