Is harmony possible when everything around is collapsing? The blue in this work represents immersion into the unconscious — an attempt to find a point of support within one’s own depth, which both frightens and protects from madness.
The Hero is fixed as a stencil imprint within a white circle, confined by an invisible wall.
“A vortex of thoughts was consuming me. So I became quiet, immobilized, hidden — while life continued,” the artist recalls. This painting is a contemplation of silence, which in reality is the epicenter of an inner storm.
Note: This work is part of the triptych “Color Harmony” (section “Stupor”) within Olena Koliesnik’s conceptual series “Solomon’s Paradox.”The full series consists of 18 works created at the intersection of psychology, exploring reptilian survival instincts and the artist’s lived experience of emigration.
